Allen Iverson started his sporting career as a quarterback for Betherl High School Football team, he is versatile player and can play defensive back, running back and kick returner in footabll.But his basketball career also started at the school playing as point guard. He has won several awards in baseball as a junior, notably The Associated Press High School Player of the Year award in both sports.
Iverson was imprisoned in 1993, as he was involved in an altercation in Hampton.Completed his senior scholling in Richard Milburn High School.John Thompson, one of the famous Basketball coach in United States offered Iverson a full scholarship to join the Georgetown Hoyas basketball team. Allen led the Hoyas to sweet 16 round in the first season and in the second season led the team to Elite 8 of the NCAA tournament.He ended his college career with a career scoring average at 22.9 points per game.
Philadelphia 76ers selected Iverson in the 1996 NBA Draft and he was the shortest player in the league.He won the Rookie of the year award in the debut season.
